Ami imaginaire and Matt_tieu: two Urban rtists featured together at Jumble Gallery in Lorient
One creates stylized animals inspired by Japanese culture, while the other is known for his hypnotic-eyed ostriches. Street artists Ami imaginaire and Matt_tieu are exhibiting together at Galerie Jumble in Lorient (Brittany, France) until August 14, 2026.
Galerie Jumble is presenting a unique exhibition bringing together two distinctive voices of contemporary urban art: Ami imaginaire and Matt_tieu. Through poetic, colorful and deeply human works, the two artists invite visitors to look at the living world from a fresh perspective, where poetry, humor and emotion come together. Established in 2022, the gallery specializes in contemporary urban art and street art.
« Although their artistic worlds are very different, Ami imaginaire and Matt_tieu share the same sensitivity: they tell stories with kindness, evoke emotion through endearing characters, and encourage us to slow down and rediscover the beauty of the living world, » explain Virginie and Pascal, founders of Galerie Jumble.
Two artists, two distinctive visual languages
Ami imaginaire draws inspiration from both nature and Japanese culture. His stylized animals, adorned with patterns reminiscent of traditional Japanese prints, celebrate the beauty of life, the fragility of natural balance, and the sense of wonder that nature inspires.
Alongside him, Matt_tieu presents a universe that is instantly recognizable. His ostriches, with their oversized, captivating eyes, are humorous, tender, and sometimes tinged with melancholy. Through these iconic characters, he revisits history, mythology, and everyday life with a poetic touch that resonates across generations. Behind the humor always lies reflection and emotion.
An exhibition for everyone
Through this exhibition, Galerie Jumble demonstrates how contemporary urban art has moved beyond the streets to become a universal artistic language. The exhibition is designed to appeal to art lovers, collectors, families, and curious visitors alike.
